Detroit Pistons player Isaiah Stewart found himself in hot water after an alleged altercation with Phoenix Suns’ Drew Eubanks. The incident, which occurred in the parking lot of the Footprint Center in Phoenix, resulted in Stewart’s arrest for assault.
According to reports from the Phoenix Police Department, the altercation erupted around 4:45 p.m. local time, just before the scheduled game between the Pistons and the Suns. Witnesses reported seeing Stewart punch Eubanks, causing a minor injury, after an argument escalated between the two players upon their arrival at the arena.
Security quickly intervened to separate the players, ending the scuffle. Following the incident, Stewart was arrested and issued a citation for assault before being released. However, the investigation into the matter is ongoing.
Both the Phoenix Suns and the Detroit Pistons have issued statements condemning the violence. The Suns emphasized that the attack on Drew Eubanks was unprovoked and stated their full support for their player, promising to cooperate with law enforcement and the NBA throughout the investigation.

This is not the first time Stewart has been involved in on-court altercations. In a previous incident in 2021, he was suspended for two games after an altercation with LeBron James of the Los Angeles Lakers, who received a one-game suspension.
Despite the off-court drama, both Stewart and Eubanks played in the game that evening, with the Suns ultimately securing a 116-100 victory over the Pistons. Stewart, however, was already sidelined due to an ankle injury.
