San Francisco will receive two compensatory picks in the NFL Draft as a result of Carthon’s hiring. Carthon, who was serving as the Niners’ director of player personnel, will become the Titans’ next general manager after Tennessee fired its previous general manager, Jon Robinson, last December.

The 49ers have been shorthanded on draft capital due to trading up for quarterback Trey Lance in 2021 and then acquiring running back Christian McCaffrey halfway through the 2022 season.
