Mithali Raj is the captain of the Indian women’s cricket team. She is one of the best female cricket players and has scored more than 6,000 runs in ODIs. She has been the captain of the Indian Women’s cricket team in Test and ODI formats since 2004. Recently on 8 June 2022, she announced her retirement from all forms of the games. She already took retirement from T20s in 2019. She has played for the Indian women’s cricket team from 1999 to 2022. Because of her tremendous record, she is also called “Lady Sachin Tendulkar“.

Mithali used to visit Mithun’s cricket academy with her brother. His coach wanted her parents to take her to Sampath Kumar’s girl’s cricket Sports Glory Club. Under Sampath Kumar, Mithali became the youngest player in the state in the sub-junior’s tournament at age 9.

Mithali Raj made her international cricket debut in 1999 by scoring a century in her very first match against Ireland. She also became the record holder for most runs in Tests by scoring 214 runs. Two years later, Pakistan’s Kiran Baluch broke the record and scored 242 against West Indies.

Mithali Raj became the captain of the Indian cricket team after performing well in her own career. She led them to the finals of the 2005 ODI World Cup and also won a Test series against England in India. In the rankings released by the ICC, Mithali Raj achieved first place in the years 2010, 2011, and 2012 on the basis of her excellent performance.

Mithali Raj is the first captain for India (both men’s and women’s) to reach the ICC ODI World Cup final twice in 2005 and 2017. Her batting style is Right-Handed and her Bowling Style is Over bowling leg-spinners.
