Hollywood’s award season got underway with the 80th Golden Globes, which were presented at a Los Angeles gala with comedian Jerrod Carmichael as host. The film RRR, which SS Rajamouli directed, won Best Original Song for Naatu Naatu.
It was also vying for the 1985 award for Best Foreign Language Film, which went to Argentina. The real-life liberation heroes Komaram Bheem and Alluri Sitaramaraju are portrayed by Jr. NTR and Ram Charan in RRR, which is the first Indian movie to win a Golden Globe, one of Hollywood’s highest honors.
The spouses of director Rajamouli, Jr. NTR, and Ram Charan, Lakshmi Pranathi, and Upasana Kamineni attended the Golden Globes. Along with RRR, prominent winners also included Everything Everywhere All At Once, The Banshees Of Inisherin, and The Fabelmans. The big victors in the contest were Abbott Elementary and The White Lotus.
Delighted to see the world stand up for an Indian Cinema. Congrats @mmkeeravaani , @ssrajamouli , @tarak9999 , @AlwaysRamCharan and the entire team of #RRRMovie for bagging the #GoldenGlobes2023 for the best original song.#NaatuNaatu @RRRMovie pic.twitter.com/R23ey1qyCZ
