Jug Jug Jiyo Movie Review
In the movie Jug Jug Jiyo , two familiar young people get married and divorce comes within five years. The other couple is senior. everything seems going well from the outside. The daughter is about to get married. But, the father is still looking for love. The wife takes care of him but he is not able to be romantic with her. The film ‘Jug Jug Jiyo’ is in a way a modern version of Dharma Productions’ film ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham’ released 21 years ago for the new millennials.
This is the story of that era in which the son has to enter the field to bring the father back on track. There are three family weddings in the field. Two have happened, and the third is about to happen. In the midst of the preparations for this third marriage, the strings of two marriages of the house are getting scattered. The film ‘Jug Jug Jiyo’ examines the three marriages from different perspectives by turning them upside down. With sacrifice, expectations, aspirations, hopes, and beliefs, this story moves forward in the midst of the real realities of life.
Son’s love story stuck in father’s divorce
The story of the film ‘Jug Jug Jiyo’ starts from Canada. Riding on the pace of success, Naina has got a big promotion in her own company and for this, she has to move from Toronto to New York away from her husband. Naina and Kuku have known each other since childhood. Both of them did love marriage, but after five years of marriage, their self-respect and pride have put a rift in the relationship. Kuku’s sister Ginni’s marriage has been fixed in India and both of them come to India, deciding to postpone their divorce till the completion of this marriage. Kuku’s father Bhima is having an affair with Meera, who was Kuku’s teacher and Bhima being drunk tells this to his son.
The son, looking for a chance to talk about his divorce to his father, is stunned to learn about his father’s preparations for divorce. The mother is ignorant of both these bad situations that have spread in the family. daughter too has agreed to marry an unknown just for the prestige of the family while she loves a young man who is struggling to find his existence in the world of music.
Raj Mehta’s Directed film nicely
Anil and Neetu’s Strong Performance
The film ‘Jug Jug Jiyo’ draws from the experience of Anil Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor in the cast. Whenever the film seems to be a bit weak, Anil Kapoor fills it with his strange character. The film starts shining when Neetu Kapoor talks about his habits and troubles in the ‘charity’ scene of her husband in front of Mira Bunny Tisca Chopra, while her pretense of falling ill handles the story of their affair. The film also gets a lot of help from its supporting cast especially Manish Paul and Prajakta Koli. The highlight of the film is Ginni scolding her parents and brother and sister-in-law for not being able an ideal couple. And, Manish Paul has tried his best to fill the gap of a young comedian.
Varun’s Acting and Kiara’s Charisma
The undercurrent of the movie ‘Jug Jug Jiyo’ is the love story of Kuku and Naina. Both of them get married at the beginning of the film. After this, both of them struggle to get out of this marriage first and then to save this marriage. This film was the toughest challenge for Varun Dhawan, who turned 35. It also takes a jibe at his last flop film ‘Kalank’. Varun’s career has been in a stalemate since the film ‘Judwaa 2’, which came out five years ago. His performance in films like ‘October’ and ‘Sui Dhaaga’ was praised but the films did not earn. Then in ‘Kalank’, ‘Street Dancer 3D’ and ‘Coolie No. 1’, he felt like he would be out of the race but he seems to be back on track with his hard work in the film ‘Jug Jug Jiyo’.
Varun is an energetic actor and Raj Mehta has portrayed him in the right character in the film. Varun Dhawan made good use of the opportunity and also managed to make an impact. Kiara Advani is flourishing film by film. Her acting sometimes really reminds us of Hema Malini. Her intense anger in a fight scene with Varun Dhawan and then realizing her mistake shows her acting talent.
Music is the weakest point in the Movie
Producer Karan Johar has chosen the right cast for the film ‘Jug Jug Jiyo’. The effect of his making on the film is also visible. A lot has been spent on the costumes and she hasn’t seen any shortage of money to decorate every scene necessary for the big screen. The problem with the film ‘Jug Jug Jiyo’ lies in its music and its technical team. At least three songs of the film are remixes. ‘Nach Punjaban’ is a remix of Pakistani singer Abrar-ul-Haq’s song, ‘Rangisari’ is Shobha Gurtu’s famous thumri and ‘Dupatta’ is also a remix of hit Punjabi songs of the past century. Companies like Dharma Productions are expected to raise the bar of music in Hindi cinema. But, the film ‘Jug Jug Jiyo’ disappoints a lot on the musical level.
You should watch the movie or not
When Geeta Saini sits down to drink wine on the lake with her daughter-in-law Naina after hearing about her husband’s affair, the essence of the entire film comes down to the dialogues delivered by Neetu Kapoor here “Daughters who are married to an unknown man came to others house with the hope of love. Even before both can become husband and wife properly, both become parents. Then when the children grow up and move away, both get a chance to become husband and wife again, but by then both have become used to each other. Now a person may be good or bad, but they became our habits and habits don’t get lost. This is the essence of the film ‘Jug Jug Jiyo’. This is why the film passes the test of family entertainment because it is a matter of two generations apart from the generation gap of two generations to adjust to the changing thinking of the two generations. The film is fine for a family outing on the weekend.
