Ravens Triumph Over Browns 28-3 Amidst QB Watson’s Injury Mystery

The Baltimore Ravens narrowly defeated the Cleveland Browns on Sunday, with a final score of 28-3, needing only two field goals for the win.

Deshaun Watson, the Browns’ quarterback, had initially intended to start against the Ravens today. However, during pregame warmups, he experienced significant pain while throwing, leading him to inform the head trainer that he couldn’t proceed.

With no time to alter their game plan, the Browns were left with no choice but to thrust rookie fifth-round quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson into the spotlight.

Cleveland faced a setback as their star quarterback, Deshaun Watson, was sidelined due to a shoulder injury. In his absence, rookie Dorian Thompson-Robinson took the helm for his NFL debut. Despite showing promise during the preseason, Thompson-Robinson exhibited typical rookie struggles, completing 19 passes out of 36 attempts for 121 yards and encountering three interceptions. He also managed three rushes for 24 yards but endured four sacks during the game.

The Browns made a surprising decision to bench Watson after he missed an entire week of practice and couldn’t throw for more than 10 yards in pregame warmups. Initially referred to as a “shoulder bruise,” CBS reported during the game that Watson had disclosed an MRI showing fluid in his rotator cuff, indicating a more severe injury than previously acknowledged by the Browns.

Head coach Kevin Stefanski announced on Monday that the Browns anticipate Watson returning to start against the San Francisco 49ers following the upcoming bye week. However, when questioned about the specifics of the rotator cuff issue, Stefanski declined to provide details, stating, “I don’t have the specific information, but structurally, he’s in good shape.”
