Yankees Matt Carpenter Returns To St. Louis, Fans Gives Standing Ovation

In March, Carpenter signed a contract with the Texas Rangers, but he was let go two months later.

Carpenter signed with the Yankees a week after being released, where he has revived his career.

In 2011, he made his Major League Baseball debut with the St. Louis Cardinals.

He bats left-handed and throws right-handed.

In 43 games this season with the Yankees, he hit.322/.435/.791 with 15 home runs and 36 RBI.
