World Music Day is celebrated on June 21 every year.

World Music Day was first celebrated in France in 1982.

It was organized by the then French Minister of Culture, Jack Lange.

On the summer solstice, Jack Lang reunited with Maurice Fleuré and founded Fete de la Musique in Paris. That is why World Music Day is also known as Fete de la Musique.

Flore was the main person initiating and organizing World Music Day.

He is a French composer, music journalist and radio producer by profession.

After France recognized this as an event, it became a global festival and countries such as India, Italy, Brazil, Japan, China, USA, Mexico, Canada, Malaysia, Greece, Russia, Ecuador, Australia, Peru and England also celebrate the day

Today, hundreds of cities celebrate this day with great enthusiasm.

To celebrate this day, people from musical backgrounds, both veterans and beginners alike, come out to showcase their talents.

On this day, free concerts are held in which everyone can participate. It is a massive cultural exchange and also brings people closer together.
