Every year on June 14th, the world comes together to commemorate World Blood Donor Day.

In 2004, the World Health Organization (WHO) introduced World Blood Donor Day to commorate the birthday of Karl Landsteiner, the renowned Nobel laureate who pioneered the discovery of the ABO blood group system.
