Legendary quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers Ben Roethlisberger has stated who he believes the team should start at quarterback.
Mike Tomlin has yet to announce his Week 1 starting quarterback.
The Steelers are thought to be interested in Mitch Trubisky and rookie Kenny Pickett.
Trubisky would be Roethlisberger's choice.
"He hasn't done anything to deserve to lose his job." He's performed admirably as the starter."
While Tomlin has yet to make a decision, it would be very surprising if someone other than Trubisky won the starting job in Week 1.
Trubisky signed a two-year, $14.3 million contract with the Steelers in March, effectively making him the team's starting quarterback.
When the team selected Pickett in the first round of the 2022 NFL draught, there were questions about his starting status and whether the franchise would turn to the rookie as QB1.
The 28-year-old played with the Chicago Bears for the first four years of his career.
