Walmart cited a restructuring effort as the reason for hundreds of corporate job cutbacks.

The retailer informed staff in its Bentonville, Arkansas, headquarters and other corporate offices of their restructuring decision, resulting in the loss of almost 200 positions.

The reorganisation efforts have an impact on a number of departments, including the marketing, global technology, and real estate .

A Walmart spokeswomen  even confirmed that the company was eliminating roles as it updated its structure.

However, stated that the company was also investing in other areas and creating new positions.

In addition, the company is investing in and creating jobs in the eCommerce, technology, and health and wellness sectors.

In the United States, Walmart employs over 100,000 management and professional personnel.

The company, the country's largest private-sector employer, employs nearly 1.6 million people in the United States.

In addition to Walmart, companies like Tesla, Netflix, and Coinbase Global have also been laying off employees.
