"Top Gun - Maverick" previously eclipsed 'Titanic' as Paramount's highest-grossing film.

Top Gun - Maverick has officially surpassed James Cameron's Titanic to become the seventh highest-grossing film of all time in the United States.

The Tom Cruise sequel just completed its eleventh weekend in theatres, earning $1.9 million on Friday.

The picture is predicted to gross $6.7 million over the weekend.

Titanic, which was formerly the highest-grossing picture of all time, has grossed a total of $659.5 million in the United State

"Star Wars - Episode VII, The Force Awakens" is now the highest-grossing film of all time in the United States.

"Top Gun- Maverik" is an American action movie directed by Joseph Kisinski.

It is the sequel to the 1986 blockbuster Top Gun. 

The film's top casts are - Tom Cruise and Val Kilmer.

It follows Maverick as he confronts his history while teaching a bunch of younger TOPGUN grads, including his late best friend's son.

Rotten Tomatoes reports that 96 percent of 435 critic reviews are positive, with an average rating of 8.2/10.
