The Sandman is an upcoming American fantasy drama television series based on Neil Gaiman's 1989-1996 comic book series published by DC Comics.

Gaiman, David S. Goyer, and Allan Heinberg created the series for the streaming service Netflix.

The series produced by DC Entertainment and Warner Bros. Television.

The Sandman chronicles the tale of Dream, the titular Sandman, just like the comic.

Tom Sturridge plays the title character "Dream" and Gwendoline Christie, Vivienne Acheampong, Boyd Holbrook, Charles Dance, Asim Chaudhry, and Sanjeev Bhaskar serve as his supporting cast.

The Sandman is a mythical character from European folklore who, by sprinkling enchanted sand on people's eye, induces sleep while fostering and inspiring lovely dreams.

Morpheus, the lord of dreams and one of the seven Endless, is kidnapped in an occult ritual in 1916.

Morpheus escapes after being imprisoned for 106 years and sets out to restore order to his kingdom of the Dreaming.

The Sandman is set to premiere on Netflix on August 5, 2022.
