Three Black Philadelphia-based artists will create original murals throughout the city as part of the Adult Swim Festival Block Party, which will take place August 5-7.

The three-day event will take place in Philadelphia's Fishtown neighbourhood and will feature more than 15 music and comedy performances.

The Adult Swim Mural Project began in 2020 in Atlanta, Georgia.

It was created in collaboration with Living Walls, a local non-profit.

The plan was to build large-scale murals and teach new artists how to make murals.

The artist gained experience, and the city now has magnificent artwork that illuminates the city's neighbourhoods.

Murals in Philadelphia will be created by Branche Coverdale, Zeinab Diomande, and Nazeer Sabee.

The Adult Swim Mural Project's goal is to start a conversation about the identity of artists in public spaces today, as well as to introduce new Black artists and innovators.

It's a fantastic opportunity for a young artist, especially in Philadelphia, to have their work displayed so prominently
