Sheynnis Palacios of Nicaragua clinches the 2023 Miss Universe title, celebrating beauty, intellect, and breaking barriers. 

Anntonia Porsild of Thailand secures first runner-up in the prestigious Miss Universe pageant held in El Salvador's capital. 

Judged by a diverse panel, including model Halima Aden and 'Queer Eye' star Carson Kressley, the pageant featured contestants from 84 countries. 

Twenty semi-finalists, selected after the preliminary competition and fan vote, faced elimination rounds, including the first 'curvy' contestant and the first to wear a burkini. 

Asked in the final round who she would choose to spend a day in the life of, 

Palacios, the new Miss Universe, chooses to spend a day in the life of 18th-century feminist Mary Wollstonecraft, emphasizing women's boundless opportunities today. 

Camila Avella of Colombia and Karla Guilfú of Puerto Rico join the top five, with Spain's Athenea Pérez named Miss Congeniality in this international beauty spectacle.
