Renowned fashion designer and innovator Issey Miyake has died in hospital in Tokyo aged 84

 Issey Miyake was a famed Japanese fashion designer.

He was born in Hiroshima in 1938

He studied graphic design at Tama Art University in Tokyo, before moving to Paris in 1965 to study at the École de la Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne.

He was known for former Apple CEO Steve Jobs' black turtlenecks.

The statement issued by the Issey Miyake Group stated that, as per Miyake’s wishes, there will be no funeral or memorial service. private funeral had already been held .

The late designer was battling hepatocellular carcinoma, the most common type of liver cancer, and passed away on 5 August.

Miyake was a star as soon as he hit the European runways.

The renowned  designer founded the Miyake Design Studio in 1970
