2022 Ben Roethlisberger was a mediocre quarterback.

In 2021, the Steelers' passing offence was about as middle-of-the-road as it gets.

At around 221 yards per game, it ranked 15th in the league.

However, Roethlisberger had the NFL's second-lowest intended air yards.

In fact, he and Jared Goff (the lowest) were the only quarterbacks last season to average less than seven yards per attempt.

Roethlisberger had 6.7 intended air yards to Goff's 6.6.

The Steelers' passing troubles were alleviated by their ranking of 12th in the NFL in yards after the catch (2,099).

However, it did not solve all of their obnoxious issues. They ranked 21st in points, 23rd in yards, and 16th in sacks allowed.

Pittsburgh did make it to the wild card weekend, falling 42-21 to the Chiefs. Roethlisberger's inevitable retirement video arrived less than two weeks later.
