Terry Bradshaw, a former player for the Pittsburgh Steelers, spoke on FS1's The Herd to preview Week 1 of the NFL season.

The Steelers' quarterback situation came up during Bradshaw's time on The Herd. Mitch Trubisky was recently named the team's starter.

They signed Trubisky to be their starter, so I understand what Mike is doing, Bradshaw said.

They might have desired Pickett, but there was no assurance they would succeed in obtaining him.

"I believe Mike Tomlin is upholding his pledge to bring him [Trubisky] in understanding that the genuine starter is the kid," Bradshaw stated.

In case it wasn't obvious, Bradshaw would have announced Kenny Pickett as the Steelers' starting quarterback.

In the preseason, Pickett had exceptional accuracy, completing 29 of his 36 pass attempts for 261 yards and three touchdowns.

The Steelers might start Pickett as the starter if Trubisky falters at any point during the regular season.
