Football fans were shocked earlier this week when Christian McCaffrey's name appeared on the Carolina Panthers injury list.

Carolina's standout rushing back was added to the injury report with a shin injury.

McCaffrey got a cleat to the shin, according to Panthers head coach Matt Rhule, who assured reporters that he was "fine".

A day later, the Panthers fully removed McCaffrey off the injury report.

Christian Jackson McCaffrey plays running back for the National Football League's Carolina Panthers (NFL).

The Panthers selected him eighth overall in the 2017 NFL Draft after he played college football for Stanford.

He racked up 1,387 rushing yards and 1,005 receiving yards in 2019.

McCaffrey ranks among the NFL's most versatile running backs.

McCaffrey signed a four-year, $17.2 million contract with the Carolina Panthers on May 4, 2017, which included a $10.7 million signing bonus.
