The Bears added a player to their 53-man roster on Friday.

According to the NFL's daily transaction report, defensive tackle Mike Pennel was released.

They also removed defensive lineman Sam Kamara off the practise squad and placed wide receiver Tajae Sharpe on injured reserve.

Pennel joined the Bears in June after spending the previous season with the Falcons.

Since entering the league as an undrafted free agent in 2014, he's also played for the Packers, Jets, and Chiefs.

In 101 career games, Pennel has 176 tackles, two sacks, and a forced fumble.

Angelo Blackson, Justin Jones, and Armon Watts are the only active defensive tackles in Chicago.

Michael Maurice Pennel Jr. is a nose tackle for the National Football League's Chicago Bears (NFL).

He attended Colorado State University Pueblo and was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Green Bay Packers in 2014
