According to NFL Network Insider Tom Pelissero, the Packers have released the veteran receiver.
Watkins will be sent to waivers on his release.
Green Bay released the information along with the corresponding signing of running back Patrick Taylor to the active roster.
Watkins joined the Packers on a one-year deal, and in nine games in 2022, he caught 13 passes for 206 yards and no touchdowns.
Watkins hasn't caught a pass since Week 10 despite playing 11 total snaps over the last two games.
Watkins made the 53-man roster after training camp, but his season was cut short by a hamstring injury in Week 2.
Watkins, 29, missed four games in the first half of the season due to an injury.
In only six games, Watkins caught a pass, and he only reached 50 receiving yards once (in Week 2's matchup with the Bears).
In the first meeting with the Bears, Watkins had three receptions for 93 yards, including a 55-yard catch that was the longest of the Packers' season until Watson's 58-yard touchdown reception against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 10.
