The New York Jets struggled mightily to generate much offence in their first game of the season last weekend, losing 24-9 to the Baltimore Ravens.
In the absence of second-year quarterback Zach Wilson, veteran quarterback Joe Flacco started, which was not popular with many Jets fans.
During the third quarter of Sunday's game, Jets fans began chanting "Mike White," requesting that the fan-favorite quarterback be given an opportunity over Flacco while Wilson is out with an injury.
Wilson did not play in the game, and it appears that he will not play in the Jets' Week 2 game against the Cleveland Browns
Given his prior remarks about their Monday quarterback dilemma, Jets head coach Robert Saleh has made the decision that Joe Flacco will start again against Cleveland.
Most Jets supporters aren't exactly ecstatic about the team's decision to start Flacco this weekend, as was to be expected.
At this stage of his career, Flacco is a relatively immobile quarterback who has some very genuine weaknesses in the modern game of football when mobility quarterbacks are becoming more and more valued.
Even if Flacco's performance for the Jets in Week 1 wasn't terrible, he also didn't do much to encourage optimism for a better performance in their game against a formidable Browns defence led by star pass rusher Myles Garrett.
Given that the Ravens sacked Flacco three times in their first meeting, it seems likely that Garrett will cause the Jets offence some difficulties this weekend.
