After a humiliating home loss to the nation's top-ranked team, South Carolina's coach was irritated by a press conference question.

Evans was suspended for his part in the altercation with Marshon Lattimore, a cornerback for the New Orleans Saints.

Evans was suspended, according to the league, for breaking the rules against unnecessary roughness and unsportsmanlike behaviour.

After Sunday's home opener against the Green Bay Packers, Evans will be able to make a comeback.

According to the collective bargaining agreement with the NFL, Evans may challenge the suspension.

If Evan files an appeal, the hearing will take place before Derrick Brooks or James Thrash.

Derrick Brooks or James Thrash have been jointly chosen by the league and the NFL Players Association to decide on appeals of on-field player discipline.

Evans plans to appeal the suspension.

The hearing will likely take place this week.
