The Dallas Cowboys' top quarterback Dak Prescott getting hurt would be the worst possible scenario this season.

But head coach Mike McCarthy is attempting to put out the flames as Dak reportedly has an ankle ailment.

McCarthy stated that Dak is "doing good" when speaking on Dallas' 105.3 The Fan.

He said that the team is exercising excessive caution by limiting his practise time and thinks it's not a big deal.

Dak has stated his intention to participate in the Cowboys' regular-season opener against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday.

It's been said before, but 2022 will most likely be a make-or-break year for Mike McCarthy.

McCarthy is 18-15 with no postseason wins in two years at the helm.

If McCarthy is unable to lead his club to the Super Bowl, owner Jerry Jones will surely lose patience.

Dak Prescott's job in Dallas is secure for at least a few more years, due to the long-term contract he signed last year.
