Many people criticised Trey Lance for playing poorly after the San Francisco 49ers' disheartening loss to the Chicago Bears on Sunday.
Some even said they would have won the competition if Jimmy Garoppolo had started.
Jerry Rice, a former player with the San Francisco 49ers, believes that the NFL want tobe experts are drawing judgments too fast before expressing his faith in Lance.
After all, the young quarterback, who is taking over the franchise as QB1 for the first time in his career, is just in the opening game of the season.
Rice is of the opinion that Lance can bounce back and put up a better performance the next time out.
Trey Lance did perform poorly,he completed just 13 of his 28 throws for a total of 164 yards. Concerns were justified because he failed to throw a touchdown and even made one interception.
In Week 2, maybe Lance will be able to recover.
There will be a lot of eyes on him, so he will be under more pressure to perform. Not to mention Jimmy Garoppolo still serves as his backup.
At home, the 49ers will take on the Seattle Seahawks.
