The Chiefs defeat the Chargers thanks to a 99-yard pick-six from seventh-round pick Jaylen Watson.

Once more, the Los Angeles Chargers and Kansas City Chiefs played to a one-point victory. This time, a rookie seventh-round pick in the draft made the choice.

Trent McDuffie, a fellow rookie who last week underwent hamstring surgery, was replaced by Jaylen Watson.

The Chargers put the young cornerback under pressure. Watson produced the game's most important play in the fourth period.

To break a 17-17 tie, Watson stepped in front of tight end Gerald Everett to intercept a pass from Justin Herbert at the one-yard line and raced down the field for the 99-yard touchdown.

The touchdown assisted the Chiefs in winning 27-24.

Patrick Mahomes and Justin Herbert were expected to square off, but the Chiefs and Chargers defence kept the quarterbacks from moving. The Chiefs won a close game of football.

'Kansas City Chiefs' selected a number of defensive backs in this year's draft, including Watson. He took advantage of his chance on Thursday night.
