For the third week in a row, the Kansas City Chiefs (and fantasy football players) will be without their starting kicker.
Harrison Butker has been ruled out of Sunday's game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The Chiefs made the announcement Saturday morning, along with the promotion of kicker Matthew Wright from the practise squad.
Wright was signed by the Chiefs this week after the team released Matt Ammendola, who missed an extra point and a field goal in the team's 20-17 loss to the Indianapolis Colts on the road.
Coach Andy Reid stated on Friday that Butker would be a game-time decision against Tampa Bay.
Butker practised briefly on Wednesday before missing drills on Thursday and Friday.
Wright, 26, has played for the Pittsburgh Steelers, Detroit Lions, and Jacksonville Jaguars, making 25 of 28 field-goal attempts in his career.
Butker was injured in the Chiefs' season opener against the Arizona Cardinals when he slipped on the turf during a kickoff at State Farm Stadium.
As part of Saturday's moves, the Chiefs activated Blue Springs High and Kansas State Wildcats product linebacker Elijah Lee from the practise squad.
