In the first half of their last two games against the Detroit Lions and Philadelphia Eagles, the Washington Commanders were outscored by more than 40 points.

After 30 minutes, the Washington Commanders (1-2) discovered themselves in a startlingly similar circumstance to last Sunday.

After a terrible second quarter, the Washington Commanders trailed the Philadelphia Eagles (3-0) by a score of 24-0 at the half.

The final score was 24-8 in favour of the Eagles.

In their previous game, the Commanders had just two first downs and were down 22-0 to the Detroit Lions at the half. Later, Washington lost to the Lions 36–27.

The Commanders' first-half offensive failure against the Lions carried over to their first-half performance against Philadelphia.

Washington totaled 50 yards. Due to the offensive line's subpar performance, they gained 66 yards on the ground while throwing for a negative 16 yards.

In the first half, the Commanders' defence didn't do much better than their attack.

Washington has been outscored 46-0 in the opening period of its last two games.
