In their Week 1 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, the Detroit Lions were utterly destroyed by injuries, notably to their offensive line.

In the 38-35 defeat, starting centre Frank Ragnow, left tackle Taylor Decker, and left guard Jonah Jackson alternated in and out of the lineup.

Dan Campbell, the head coach of the Lions, had an intriguing solution on Thursday.

Campbell informed reporters that he will change the colour of his pants on Sunday to change his luck when questioned about the injuries to the offensive line.

The Lions coach obviously adopted a humorous stance. But the offensive line's injuries are no laughing matter.

Jackson was demoted for Thursday's game after participating in a limited practise on Wednesday.

Ragnow, who is likely the most crucial of the three, has yet to work out this week. Decker was actually promoted to restricted participation on Thursday.

We shall know more about this issue once the injury report from Friday is made public.

On Sunday, the Lions play the Washington Commanders in a game that is both winnable and challenging. Washington just defeated the inexperienced Jacksonville Jaguars 28–22.
