Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott has been sidelined with a hand fracture since the team's season opener against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 1.

Prescott's first estimated time of return was six to eight weeks.

However, Prescott may now be able to return much sooner, possibly even by Week 3.

Prescott may have an opportunity in the third or fourth game.

Fortunately, Prescott is not on injured reserve, so there is no timeline for his absence.

With multiple major games coming up, it's critical that he fully heals so that he can play at full strength again.

The Cowboys will meet one of their division rivals, the New York Giants, in Week 3.

The Giants are the only club in the NFC East to have won their first two games, so they will be difficult to beat.

The Cowboys won without Prescott in Week 2 against the Cincinnati Bengals, who have a lot of talent, so they have a chance.
