Chargers release former first-round draft pick Jerry Tillery, a defensive lineman

Jerry Tillery, a defensive lineman, will be released by the Los Angeles Chargers.
The Chargers made the decision to cut ways with their former first-round draft pi
ck on Thursday.
Tillery is anticipated to become available for claim on Monday.
Tillery has produced eight tackles and one sack in seven games this season despite not starting any games.
Tillery missed this week's practice due to personal obligations.
Last season, Tillery started for Los Angeles and recorded a care
er-high 51 tackles and 4.5 sacks.
Tillery's rookie deal's fifth-year option was not exercised this past offseason by the Chargers,
who selected him with the 28th overall pick in 2019.
Tillery had 10.5 sacks and 106 tackles in his career with the Chargers.
On Sunday, the Los Angeles Chargers will play the San Francisco 49ers. The Chargers have won four of their last five games.
