Last week, following the Cornhuskers' 45-42 loss to Georgia Southern, Nebraska quickly fired head coach Scott Frost.

According to reports, Erik Chinander, the Huskers' defensive coordinator has been sacked.

The modification was made by interim head coach Mickey Joseph after the Huskers' 580 yard passing total in their 49-14 loss to OU.

Nebraska's new defensive coordinator will be Bill Busch.

On Sunday afternoon, the Huskers formally announced their decision.

From 2004 until 2007, Busch worked as an assistant coach at Nebraska.

Busch worked for Nebraska in 2021 as a defensive analyst.

In 2022, Bill Busch is in his second season at Nebraska and his first as the Huskers' coordinator of special teams.
