During Thursday Night Football, a former WWE superstar criticised the Miami Dolphins for their handling of Tua Tagovailoa's injury.

Chris Nowinski,  is currently regarded as one of the foremost authorities on brain injury.

Nowinski told TMZ Sports on social media that the 24-year-old quarterback should never again suit up for the Miami Dolphins.

Tagovailoa reportedly sustained two apparent brain injuries in a period of four days.

Nowinski, also advised Tagovailoa against playing for the rest of the season.

Tagovailoa suffered an apparent head injury against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday.

Tagovailoa was slammed to the ground and lost consciousness during the Dolphins' game against the Cincinnati Bengals on Thursday night.

Tagovailoa was on the ground for approximately 10 minutes before being transported to a hospital in the Cincinnati area.

Nowinski, 44, was a WWE wrestler from 2002 to 2003. He suffered a head injury in 2003 during a match that ended his career.
