The James Webb Space Telescope from NASA reveals the universe as we've never seen it before.
The stunning collection of ancient galaxies is highlighted in the newly released full-color image.
When compared to the previous Hubble Space Telescope image of this region of space, the image from the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) is densely packed with galaxies.
It left Earth in December of last year. It arrived at its celestial parking spot a million miles away from Earth in late January.
"Webb was built to find the first generation of galaxies that formed after the big bang," says Jane Rigby, the telescope's operations project scientist.
On July 12, at least four new images will be released, showing colliding galaxies, the final exhales of a dying star, a massive stellar nursery, and the spectrum of an alien world.
JWST, which launched on December 25, 2021, is the most powerful telescope.
The life span of this webb telescope is about 20 years.
