Manchester United got their pre-season off to a flying start with a 4-0 rout of rivals Liverpool in Thailand on Tuesday.

Manchester United's new manager Erik ten Hag received a big boost in his first match in charge.

Liverpool looked jaded and on the back foot for much of the match against Manchester United team

Manchester United kicked three goals in the Space of 21 minutes.

Liverpool controlled the early play before United scored after 12 minutes when a Bruno Fernandez cross was mishandled by the Liverpool defence, allowing Jadon Sancho to fire into the bottom corner.

Soon after, Liverpool came close to equalising when new signing Fabio Carvalho's shot beat goalkeeper David de Gea and cannoned off the far post, with Luis Diaz latching onto the ball and hitting the upright in the ensuing scramble.

However, Manchester United maintained control, with chances for Marcus Rashford and Scott McTominay troubling Liverpool.

United doubled their lead in half hour mark.

Three minutes later, Martial dispossessed substitute Rhys Williams and Connolly lifted the ball over the advancing Alisson, while Diogo Dalot nearly added a fourth when his angled shot hit the post.

Jurgen Klopp and Erik Ten Hag made ten substitutions around halftime, and Liverpool emerged more organised. But United completed the demolition with 14 minutes left.
