If Liz Truss becomes Prime Minister, she will strive to immediately reverse the increase in National Insurance contributions.

Ms Truss has already committed an emergency budget to halt the hike imposed by her Tory leadership candidate, Rishi Sunak, when he was chancellor.

Her team had estimated that the idea would not be executed until April 2023, but they now anticipate it will be completed within weeks.

However, Mr Sunak claims that it will not benefit those who are most in need.

He said, her tax measures are not going to help those like elderly or those on low incomes, who are exactly the type of families needs help.

He stated that Ms Truss is "completely incorrect" in ruling out more cost-of-living payments.

He offered more direct assistance to those most affected by inflation.

The two are competing for the support of Conservative Party members to become the next party leader and prime minister.

Voting has begun, and the results will be announced on September 5th.
