Jeremy Renner’s Accident : His Family Releases first Statement

In their first statement following the actor's snow-ploughing mishap, Jeremy Renner's family said that he "remains in the intensive care unit in critical but stable condition."

“We can confirm that Jeremy has suffered blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries and has undergone surgery today (2 January),”

The Avengers star was taken by helicopter to the hospital after the weather-related accident on Sunday left him with "severe injuries" (1 January).

According to TMZ, on New Year's Eve, Renner was clearing the road a quarter mile from his home in Nevada so that his family could leave after a snowstorm.

According to a neighbor, the Snowcat plough accidentally ran over one of the actor's legs, causing significant blood loss.
