Jakobi Meyers, a wide receiver for the National Football League's (NFL's) New England Patriots, was born on November 9, 1996.
He participated in NC State's collegiate football program before signing a free agent contract with the Patriots in 2019.
Meyers attended Arabia Mountain High School in Lithonia, Georgia, where he played high school football.
From 2015 to 2018, Meyers was a player at NC State.
Meyers was first pursued as a quarterback, but after his freshman year, during which he redshirted and played a significant role on the scout team, he switched to receiver.
He collected 168 receptions for 1,932 yards and 9 touchdowns throughout the course of his career.
He joined the 2019 NFL Draft after his junior year.
Meyers' 92 receptions in 2018 surpassed Torry Holt's previous record for NC State in a single season.
