Manchester City's championship defence in the Premier League is in grave jeopardy going into the new year despite Erling Haaland's second goal.
Manchester City lost two more points in a 1-1 draw with Everton on Saturday at Etihad Stadium.
Manchester City is at second place in the league with 36 points.
Arsenal leading the point table with 40 points in the Premiere League.
Everton managed to hold Manchester City off for the first twenty minutes, but the pressure and possession never let up, and a goal always seems to be coming when Haaland is involved.
Haaland scored 21st goal of the season in just 15 appearances.
Riyad Mahrez was the hero who snuck past two defenders.
Mahrez forced Jordan Pickford to leave his position, and then cut the ball back toward the penalty spot, where Haaland easily finished.
Currently, Everton is in 17th place, while Manchester City are in second.
