Cristiano Ronaldo, the captain of Portugal, replied to his team's World Cup elimination after losing to Morocco by remaining vague regarding his future in the international arena.

Portugal lost to Morocco in the quarterfinals by 1-0.

After the 1-0 quarterfinal loss, the 37-year-old Ronaldo was in tears as he made his way back to the dressing room.

Ronaldo stated on social media that the largest and most ambitious dream of my career was to help Portugal win the World Cup.

Ronaldo participated as a substitute after joining the action in the victory over Switzerland in the round of 16.

Ronaldo started each of his nation's three group games in the competition before Fernando Santos benched him for the victory over Switzerland.

In the Game against Morocco, Ronaldo stepped into play in 51st minute.

Ronaldo left Manchester United amicably prior to the 2022 World Cup following a contentious interview in which he harshly criticised the team.

Ronaldo has won the Ballon d'Or five times.
