The rivalry between Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo has resurfaced as a result of a new disclosure from Thierry Marchand.
Thierry Marchand is the former chief of overseas football for the French magazine France Football.
'Cristiano,' Marchand's personal biography of Cristiano Ronaldo, features a series of one-on-one interviews with the Portuguese.
In one of these interviews, the Manchester United player slammed Lionel Messi for staying in his comfort zone ahead to his move to Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) last year.
Intriguingly, Messi won the Ballon d'Or that year, making history by becoming the first player to win it six times.
However, Ronaldo carried on with his career, seemingly acting contrary to what he said.
Messi struggled last season after joining PSG, but he has gotten back to his best this year and is unquestionably one of the best players in Europe right now.
In 18 appearances for the Parisians so far in all competitions, the seven-time Ballon d'Or winner has tallied 12 goals and 14 assists.
