In the United States over the Christmas holiday, the wintry weather caused at least 34 deaths.
According to New York Governor Kathy Hochul, the state where the most fatalities have occurred is New York, where 12 people have passed away following a significant snowfall.
During a press conference on Christmas morning, Hochul declared that this storm in Buffalo "will go down in history as the most disastrous storm."
The governor reported winds of about 80 mph during the "colossal" snowstorm.
A travel ban was put into effect by Buffalo as blizzard conditions developed.
"I cannot overstate how dangerous the conditions still are," Hochul said Sunday, urging people to stay off the roads on Christmas.
