The Steelers are dealing with a quarterback situation right now.
The first two weeks have seen Mitchell Trubisky put up a rather underwhelming performance. Meanwhile, rookie Kenny Pickett is waiting for his chance.
The youth is what Pittsburgh fans prefer, and they have made that choice obvious.
As the Steelers were suffering a humiliating 17-14 loss to the New England Patriots, fans started jeering Trubisky.
Legendary Steelers player Ben Roethlisberger believes Trubisky is being unfairly treated by fans.
In other words, Trubisky shouldn't be held responsible for the Steelers' offensive output, according to Big Ben.
"Being booed on Sunday shouldn't have occurred to Mitch, in my opinion, since I wouldn't hold Mitch responsible for the performance.
He didn't, in my opinion, merit the abuse from the crowd (Sunday). I feel bad for Mitch because it's not fair, "said Roethlisberger through Mark Kaboly.
It doesn't matter if Mitchell Trubisky plays better or not. Through the first two weeks of the season, the offensive has been far too sluggish.
Perhaps it won't be long before the Steelers start using Pickett. But for now, Trubisky is still in charge.
On Sunday, the Steelers meet the Cleveland Browns.
