A 7-year-old California kid is being hailed as a hero for his quick-thinking actions that assisted in the rescue of a toddler who was at the bottom of a pool.
Massiah Browne, of Sacramento, was swimming with family members at the apartment complex where he lives with his mother and brother when he saw something unusual.
Second-grader Massiah stated, "I was just playing in the water when I noticed a boy at the bottom of the pool."
Massiah, who was in the pool with a 9-year-old relative, dove down in water that was 6 feet deep to save the toddler.
Massiah stated that he observed a stranger, a 3-year-old boy, with his lips and eyes open and dove down to fetch him, grabbed his arm and pulled him to the pool's surface.
From there, his 9-year-old cousin, Savannah, dragged the youngster onto the pool deck, where people arrived to assist and then called 911.
Savannah carried him to his mother, and they performed CPR on the boy before calling the doctor.
Bystanders gave CPR to the kid, who was breathing when first responders arrived.
The child was transported in critical condition, and Sacramento firefighters performed advanced life support. Boy is doing well now.
