Dak Prescott signed a massive four-year, $240 million contract extension with the Dallas Cowboys, making him the highest-paid player in NFL history by average annual salary.

The Cowboys' significant financial commitments to Prescott and wide receiver CeeDee Lamb will likely force them to adjust their roster in the near future.

Micah Parsons, Dallas' standout edge rusher, is expected to receive a new contract soon, which could reset his positional market value.

Wide receiver Brandin Cooks, who will turn 31, has seen a decline in his performance and may not be with the Cowboys in 2025 due to age and the rise of younger receivers.

Jalen Tolbert, a 2022 third-round draft pick, is showing promise and could potentially replace Brandin Cooks as a key receiver for the Cowboys by 2025.

Trey Lance, the former No. 3 overall draft pick, had his fifth-year option declined by the Cowboys and is likely to become an unrestricted free agent in 2025.

Trey Lance has struggled with accuracy, turnovers, and injuries, making him a liability despite his potential, reducing his chances of staying with the Cowboys.

DeMarcus Lawrence has had a career resurgence and performed well in 2023, but due to his age and market value, the Cowboys may struggle to retain him in 2025.
