The Minnesota Vikings are exploring the potential acquisition of All-Pro linebacker Shaquille Leonard to bolster their lineup for the playoffs.

Injuries hampered Leonard's time with the Colts, impacting his performance despite earning Defensive Rookie of the Year and setting sack records in 2018.

Leonard's impressive stats with the Colts include 614 tackles, 32 tackles for loss, 15 sacks, 17 forced fumbles, and 12 interceptions before setbacks due to back surgeries.

The Athletic once saw Leonard on a "Hall of Fame" trajectory, but recent limited playing time and frustrations with usage led to his release from the Colts.

Despite challenges, Leonard expressed a desire to continue playing and remains open to joining another team this season after being waived by the Colts.

The Vikings, known for their top-ranking organization, offer Leonard a potential fresh start and ample pass-rushing opportunities under Brian Flores' defense.
