The Las Vegas Raiders have chosen Brian Hoyer as the starting quarterback for their Week 7 game against the Chicago Bears.
Starting quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo won't play due to a back injury sustained in Week 6.
The Raiders considered Hoyer and
Aiden O'Connell
as potential replacements for Jimmy G throughout the week.
Aiden O'Connell's first career start in Week 4 didn't result in a Raiders victory, while Hoyer helped secure a win over New England last weekend.
The Chicago Bears will also have a backup quarterback,
Tyson Bagent
, replacing the injured Justin Fields.
The game is scheduled to kick off at 1 p.m. ET in Chicago on Sunday.
