Jets Dominate Preseason, Defeat Panthers 27-0

The New York Jets made a commanding statement in their preseason outing against the Carolina Panthers, emerging triumphant with a resounding 27-0 victory.

With a dominant display across the board, the Jets showcased their prowess and depth as they improved to a 1-1 record in the preseason, leaving just two games on their preseason schedule.

Quarterback Zach Wilson continued to impress within Nathaniel Hackett's offensive system, delivering a solid performance by completing 14-of-20 passes for 123 yards and a touchdown.

The quarterback duo was further bolstered by Tim Boyle's contribution, who added 84 yards and a touchdown on 9-of-10 passing.

Running back Israel Abanikanda further solidified his preseason impact, amassing a total of 87 yards – 56 yards on 12 carries and an additional 31 yards from three receptions. Travis Dye chipped in with a commendable 32 yards on 10 carries.

Remarkably, the receiving touchdowns were exclusively secured by tight ends. Kenny Yeboah, Zack Kuntz, and E.J. Jenkins each found the end zone, showcasing the Jets' versatile offensive options.

Among the running backs, Michael Carter, Israel Abanikanda, and Travis Dye led the Jets in receiving yards, highlighting the team's dynamic playmaking abilities.

On the defensive front, the Jets displayed an exceptional collective effort, swarming the Panthers and disrupting their offensive rhythm. The defense held Bryce Young, the No. 1 overall pick, to a mere 21 yards on 4-of-6 passing.

Young was sacked once, and the Jets' relentless defensive line got to Matt Corral four times. Standout performances were recorded by Deslin Alexandre, Jermaine Johnson, Quinton Jefferson, Bruce Hector, and Will McDonald.

Anticipating the forthcoming challenges, the Jets are gearing up for a series of joint practices in the upcoming week, followed by a pivotal preseason clash against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers scheduled for the following Saturday.
