Former Jets Pass Rusher Tarell Basham Released by Bengals

Cincinnati Bengals have released former Jets pass rusher Tarell Basham, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Tarell Basham, a six-year NFL veteran, was waived by the Bengals after his stint with the Jets and Cowboys.

Despite being a former third-round pick, Tarell Basham's NFL career didn't meet expectations, leading to his recent release by the Bengals.

Tarell Basham enjoyed a successful season with the Jets in 2020, recording 3.5 sacks, five tackles for a loss, and three forced fumbles.

Following his time with the Jets, Basham joined the Dallas Cowboys and secured another 3.5 sacks, but his performance dipped in his second season.

Basham's tenure with the Cowboys was followed by a stint with the Tennessee Titans before his release by the Bengals this summer.

The 29-year-old Tarell Basham faces an uncertain future after being waived by the Bengals, with his next destination yet to be determined.

Despite his connection to the Jets' defense under Gregg Williams, a return to the team seems unlikely due to the team's depth at pass rusher.

Tarell Basham's NFL journey has taken him through multiple teams, with varying levels of success, culminating in his release from the Bengals.

Tarell Basham's recent release by the Bengals signifies a turning point in his career, prompting speculation about his next career move in the NFL.
