A former longtime starter from the Dallas Cowboys has inked a deal with a rival team.

Cornerback Anthony Brown, who played for the Cowboys until the 2022 season, is joining the San Francisco 49ers.

Brown, drafted by the Cowboys in the 2016 NFL Draft, started 69 games during his tenure in Dallas.

His stats with the Cowboys include 324 total tackles, nine interceptions, and five forced fumbles.

Brown's signing with the 49ers comes as the team grapples with injuries in the secondary.

Samuel Womack's placement on injured reserve added to the 49ers' need for defensive help.

Mark your calendars for October 8, 2023, when Brown and the 49ers face off against the Cowboys in a crucial "Sunday Night Football" showdown.

Brown briefly joined the Pittsburgh Steelers' practice squad on August 30, 2023, before being released on September 14.

In the same year, Brown secured a one-year contract with the San Francisco 49ers, marking his return to the NFL.

Brown's move to the 49ers sets the stage for an intriguing matchup against his former team, the Dallas Cowboys, in October.
